Clarification regarding March 3 "Controversy continues to swirl around polygamy" story

A belated correction: This story should have referred to self-proclaimed non-fundamentalist Mormon churches other than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS), as "other non-fundamentalist churches that identify themselves as Mormon." I had originally referred to these churches, such as the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS), as "other mainstream Mormon churches." My wording was unfortunate, both because the word "mainstream" was unnecessarily subjective and because this could be perceived as making a religious claim in favor of these churches or against LDS, despite the fact that I lack any such bias.
As has been pointed out to me, the significance of polygamy as a controversy surrounding LDS in the nineteenth century is subject to me and may not have been central to anti-Mormonism at that time as the March 3 story implied. Other significant issues included LDS members' opposition to chattel slavery and their doctrinal differences from other Christians. I thank Bryan Kasik for pointing out these issues.
